    Description
    Stella-Jones is North America's leading producer of industrial pressure-treated wood products.

    The Maintenance Mechanic repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical plant equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines/equipment, using hand tools & power tools.

    Precision measuring and testing instruments and adjustment of equipment as required as well as preventative maintenance rounds and inspections.

    Day shift:
    Sunday - Thursday 7am - 3pm
    Repair of pumps, motors, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
    Performs preventative maintenance and plant inspections.
    Metal fabrication.
    Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
    Diagnoses standard mechanical equipment problems.
    Utilizes welding and fabrication tools to alter, repair, and fabricate processing equipment.
    Performs the preventative maintenance program established by the company.
    Documents and reports all maintenance work performed and advises of future requirements in a timely manner.
    Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.
    Willingness and availability to participate in on-call rotation.
    Appropriate trade training and/or experience.
    All relevant certifications and/or training.
    Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance role.
    Proficiency in English.
    Mechanical and electrical skills.
    Experience in hydraulics, electrical, pumps, valves, piping, threading, and pneumatic systems.
    Basic mechanical knowledge in wood industry preferred.
    Experience in fabrication and welding of various metals (including pipe welding)
    Work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments.
    Operate a forklift and other heavy machinery.
