Job Summary:

The Baking Specialist is responsible for overseeing the baking operations in a manufacturing plant, ensuring the production of high-quality baked goods.

They operate baking equipment, monitor the baking process, maintain consistency in product quality


Roles and Responsibilities:

Baking Operations:

Operate and monitor baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and proofers, to produce baked goods according to production schedules and specifications.

Follow recipes and instructions to prepare doughs, batters, or other baking mixes.
Adjust baking parameters (temperature, humidity, time) to achieve desired product quality, texture, and appearance.

Quality Assurance:
Perform quality checks on raw materials and finished baked goods to ensure adherence to established standards.
Conduct regular inspections during the baking process to identify any deviations or abnormalities.

Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvement in the baking operations.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders to implement process modifications and enhancements.

Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance tasks on baking equipment, such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the maintenance team for timely resolution.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or vocational training in baking or culinary arts is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a baker or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Indepth knowledge of baking principles, techniques, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with various types of baked goods and their production processes.
  • Understanding of quality control procedures and standards.
  • Basic understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Must have equipment knowledge of proofer, Convention ovens & rack ovens

Salary:
From $50,279.95 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Etobicoke, ON M9W 4M2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
