PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Reporting to the Director, Student Recruitment, the Manager, National Recruitment is responsible for the planning, analysis, and coordination of domestic recruitment activities and events.
As a member of the Recruitment and Strategic Enrolment team, the Manager is a team leader in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies, programs, and initiatives to attract high-quality students and support the overall strategic enrollment management goals of the University.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Domestic Student Recruitment (50%)
Plan and coordinate domestic recruitment activities for all Algoma University campuses.
Manage the campus tour program to ensure optimal efficiency, customer service, and presentation of the institution.
Oversee the analysis and booking of high school student visits to maximize Algoma's presence and effectiveness in recruiting at Ontario high schools.
Make informed recommendations about the domestic recruitment strategy.Oversee Algoma's college recruitment program and develop strategies to enhance effectiveness in transfer and mature student recruiting.
Research strategies to expand Algoma's domestic recruitment presence in key regions to meet enrolment targets, and make recommendations on recruitment and conversion opportunities.
Represent Algoma University at the General Committee on Student Recruitment and relevant subcommittees, as required.Conduct visits to high schools and other institutions across Ontario to build relationships and strengthen Algoma's connection to key constituents.
Make presentations to high school and college students, guidance counselors, and others as required to promote the University to prospective students.
Advise high school students, parents, and guidance counselors on academic programs, admissions requirements, and student experience.Event Management (30%)
Collaborate with the Director, Student Recruitment, Office of the Registrar, and Marketing & Communications staff to establish effective communication with prospective students, their families, and guidance counselors throughout the recruitment and admissions process.
Ensure the successful planning, budgeting, execution, and ongoing evaluation of campus recruitment and conversion events and activities including, but not limited to open houses, applicant receptions, and guidance counselor events.
Build presentation and training materials to ensure appropriate information is provided to key audiences.Oversee the coordination of special projects including the campus tour program and targeted recruitment campaigns.
Oversee the coordination of webinars for prospective students and applicants.
Build relationships and collaborate with all academic and administrative departments on campus in order to effectively communicate university information to prospective students, parents, and guidance counselors.
Build relationships with guidance counselors and teachers in secondary schools and design and implement outreach strategies to engage this group of constituents in each of Algoma's three campus locations.
Manage Algoma's presence at external recruitment events and activities including, but not limited to, the Ontario Universities' Fair, and Regional Fairs.
Administration (20%)Manages the hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and daily supervision of the Domestic Recruitment team
Play an active role in the planning of the domestic recruitment budget.
Ensure the appropriate collection, analysis, and reporting of data required for analysis, strategic planning, and decision-making to support enrolment goals.
Oversee the creation of prospective student surveys, event reports, and key performance indicators for recruitment events and activities.Research and stay up to date on industry and market trends as they relate to Algoma's reputation and success in recruitment activities and overall enrolment planning.
Participate in university committees and special projects, and represent Algoma at external events as required.WORKING CONDITIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate degree in any field, and a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated supervisory experience in post-secondary recruitment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
Extensive knowledge of the Ontario post-secondary education system and trends in student recruitment.Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience managing the work of diverse and often shifting priorities within a team.
Ability to both lead a team, and work independently.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to speak multiple languages is considered an asset.
Excellent use of technology for collaboration.
Valid Passport.
Vulnerable Police Sector check is required.
Salary Scale:
$81,251 to $101,564 annually
