Family Physician-HIV Primary Care
2 Year Contract - 1 or 2 days per week
WHIWH CHC provides racialized women, trans and non-binary clients from the African, Black, Caribbean, Latin American, and South Asian communities in Toronto and surrounding municipalities with culturally safe, relevant, and responsive primary healthcare.
We are looking for a locum physician to cover a two year contract.
In addition to comprehensive primary care you will be providing primary HIV care to our patients who are living with HIV.
Your colleagues will include Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Dietitian's, Therapists and Chiropody, as well as other allied health and community supports.
Accountabilities - Key
- Provide comprehensive primary HIV care.
- Support access to a cascade of services inclusive of HIV treatment, support and care
- Support HIV prevention needs of racialized women by facilitating access to PrEP and other biomedical HIV prevention strategies
- Perform assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health education/counselling, and other medical functions as required according to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario standards of practice.
- Participate in the Centre's on-call service as needed
- Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of medical protocols and directives.
- Contribute to chart documentation, participate in chart reviews and case conferences, and make referrals.
- Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluationof treatment, education, counselling and health promotion programs and services for individuals, groups and the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from a recognized university.
- CCFP Certification or equivalent practical experiences, an asset.
- License to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
- Additional training and/or experience in an area relevant to the Centre's services, an asset.
- Three to five year's primary care experience; preferably in a community health setting.
- Experience in HIV care delivery
- Knowledge of women's health issues.
- Other languages are an asset.
- Knowledge of PS Suites is an asset.
Reporting
This position reports to the Director of Primary Health Care Services.

Hourly rate: :$140 per hour _+ 6% in lieu of vacation._
