_Ray of Hope is looking for 2 Employment Coaches to join our team_

Overview:


As part of our Employment Services team, the Employment Coach will work collaboratively with our Employment Services Coordinator to support trainees by providing individual case management, life skills workshops, job development, coaching and caring to identified young adults facing significant barriers to employment including individuals who are long term Ontario Works recipients or Ontario Disability Support Plan recipients, individuals who have disabilities, are long-term unemployed, have a history with the criminal justice system, and may be newcomers to the country.

The position establishes and maintains a strong relationship with the trainees throughout the job finding and start-up phases of employment.

They will coordinate regular placement monitoring visits onsite with trainees as well as placement supervisors.


Specific Responsibilities:


  • Provide intake and case management services for program trainees, maintaining good working relationships with trainees' other professional supporters
  • Assist trainees to attain the vocational goals by identifying and assessing their needs, goals, and barriers to employment. Through daily contact, encourage trainees to overcome their employment barriers and achieve their vocational goals using a variety of methods
  • Manage a caseload of trainees ensuring that written documentation and statistics for each file is up to date in EMHware database
  • Maintain contact and weekly placement monitoring visits for trainee support in achieving service plan goals
  • Ensure trainees' selfevaluations are completed and submitted weekly or as required
  • Develop and monitor outcomebased service plans with the trainees
  • Manage records of a confidential and private nature, in strict compliance with policy, regulation and procedures
  • Complete ongoing checks of documentation quality and completion as directed by Employment Services Coordinator
  • Ensure trainees comply Health and Safety standards, and ROH Policy and Procedure
  • Complete assignments and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Completion of related postsecondary education in human services or a related field (Bachelor degree or College Diploma in Career Counselling, Social Work, Human Resources)

Experience:


  • Minimum 2 years related paid experience preferred experience working with individuals facing barriers in an employment setting

Certifications:


  • None required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities to be successful in this position:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding and giving directions in the English language
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize standard office machinery

Requirements:


  • Vulnerable Sector Check/Police Check
  • Valid, unrestricted Class "G" Driver's licence
  • Ministry of Transportation Drivers Abstract
  • Pre-Employment Health Assessment Form including immunization record and fitness assessment

Physical Demands:


  • This position requires the incumbent to work predominantly in an office environment spending the majority of the time in a seated position, working at a computer
  • The incumbent will predominantly work Monday through Friday during normal business hours; however, the occasional evening or weekend shift may be required
