The Office of the Registrar at U of T Mississauga delivers registrarial services to support U of T Mississauga's academic goals and U of T priorities in the areas of student information, interpretation of policies, and innovation of registrarial interactions.

Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment Events and Outreach, the Student Recruitment and Admissions Representative provides front-line and administrative support for Student Recruitment and Admissions in the Office of the Registrar to assist U of T Mississauga in achieving its recruitment and enrolment goals and objectives.

The Representative provides proactive, customer-friendly, quality service to a diverse population and is the first point of contact for visitors to Student Recruitment and Admissions at U of T Mississauga.

The Representative will assess the needs of prospective students, families, school counsellors and others, and match those needs to appropriate information, staff or University departments and divisions.


The Student Recruitment and Admission Representative is responsible for positively representing the University to support the recruitment of qualified students.

The Representative provides detailed information and must have a good understanding of the University admission process, program requirements, a basic understanding of world-wide education systems, as well as programs and policies of the University, and U of T Mississauga in particular.

The ability to interpret and explain admission guidelines and procedures, and adhere to University policies and practices is crucial. The Representative assists with planning, co-ordinating and representing U of T Mississauga in recruitment events and programs.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries
  • Providing detailed information regarding admission requirements to prospective students and applicants
  • Fostering positive relationships with students, parents and the general public
  • Responding to routine admissions and awards enquiries and referring complex enquiries as appropriate
  • Promoting programs at recruitment events
  • Coordinating scheduled activities for functions
  • Determining logístical details and activities for events and/or programming

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Minimum two years' experience in a student service environment
  • Experience working in a fastpaced customer service environment
  • Experience planning and coordinating large group events and/or programs
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills
  • Knowledgeable on issues and trends related to student recruitment, admission and university life
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills with the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, take initiative and work within a team

Assets (Nonessential):


  • Experience in student recruitment and/or admissions
  • Experience using ROSI and Slate
