Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications for Utilities Kingston, the successful student will be involved in a number of communications functions.
Active involvement in other ongoing projects will be promoted as time permits.Duties may include:
- Support communications to our water, wastewater, natural gas and electricity customers, and Utilities Kingston employees.
- Monitor and help manage social media channels and tools including Facebook, Twitter, HootSuite, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Research new communications tools and best practices.
- Create content for digital channels (i.e., writing, editing, laying out content, taking photos or producing multimedia, etc.).
- Implement communications plans and projects using various communications channels.
- Analyze social media and website statistics and measure the success of campaigns.
- Fulltime enrolment in postsecondary studies in Marketing and Communications or Journalism, preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to problemsolve using judgment.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, but committed to contributing to and supporting a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrated proofreading skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to display Corporate values.
- Fulltime student at a recognized postsecondary educational institution, and returning to fulltime attendance in the Fall of 202
- Completion of a Criminal Record Check at the employee's own expense, and to the satisfaction of Utilities Kingston.
- Valid Class "G" driver's license, an asset.
- Rate of pay will be $21.43/hour
