Description

PURPOSE:

To ensure the complete management of all programs assigned to them within their customer team from inception to completion to meet or exceed customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to maintain and assure a master program management system and APQP requirements.
Chair and direct core team to achieve program timing requirements.
Meet APQP requirements and assure proper records are maintained as required.
Negotiate customer specifications.
Identify business opportunities for the company.
Drive strategic planning activities relative to the customer.
Participate in quote review meetings.
Prepare and perform customer presentations and approve the content of customer presentations for staff.
Liaison with customer purchasing and engineering. Entertain customers when necessary.
Identify cost reductions, continuous improvement and assist in implementation
Assure product design meets internal/external specifications.
Develop appropriate specs, test procedures to validate a product. Evaluate test results.
Assist in supporting communication of tooling and component designs.
Ensures implementation of customer changes.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 5 years related experience, automotive preferred;
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Mechanical or Electrical
PEng and/or Masters degree an asset.
Experience analyzing systems / processes and implementing continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and cost reduction initiatives.
Able to travel internationally.
Strong prototyping and diagnostic skills.
Project management exposure, experience with MS Project software.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD for schematic layouts.
Demonstrated team player with excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and concisely.
Strong focus on results, with an ability to motivate others and meet commitments for project timelines.
