Reporting to the Felix Product Design Manager, the Technical Business Analyst will be involved with all technical design aspects of FPS products and projects including requirements elicitation, software design, test environment design/configuration, test plans, documentation, and reporting.

Maintaining high technical and quality standards in a dynamic environment will be essential along with great written and verbal communication skills.


Role Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of functional specification documents for FPS products and integrations of those products.
  • Work closely with commercial and technical stakeholders to identify, prioritize and document
functional/non-functional and technical requirements.

  • Development and maintenance of the requirements baseline from the customer level down to the subsystem level.
  • Development and maintenance of interface design documentation between communicating FPS products and external entities.
  • Support development teams with clarifications required during design and build.
  • Support activities in system architecture and subsystem design.
  • System and software component modeling in support of development projects, existing product improvements and introduction of new features.
  • Documentation of designs for communication with a larger technical audience.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of software engineering process in accordance with industry best practice.
  • Participate in review of software design artefacts.
  • Design and setup complex test environments.
  • Contribute to the development of system/product integration and test procedures and participate in their execution.
  • Provide support to verification activities of the overall product/system.
  • Interact regularly with support, development, and product management teams to solve challenging problems.

Requirements:


  • 3+ years of wellstructured Systems Engineering experience including being responsible for the development of functional specifications, requirements elicitation, analysis, and design.
  • Familiarity with requirements management software such as DOORS or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architect by Sparx Systems or similar tool is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of software design.
  • An understanding of different types of engineering life cycles applicable to complex programs software development programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise documentation for a variety of audiences.
  • Solid understanding of Android development, Qt, XML interfaces, data encryption and IP networking topologies.
  • Payment industry experience desirable.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite including Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.

Qualifications

  • Relevant third level qualification in Engineering, preferably in Systems Engineering.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
