How will you contribute?:

The general public to staff one (1) determinate full-time position for a period of fourteen (14) months in the Communications Directorate.

The 14-month term is to cover an employee on parental leave and may be extended depending on the incumbent's performance and operational needs.


In addition to their resume, applicants are required to send a cover letter (maximum one page) highlighting why they are passionate about working with social media and digital content and how they would like to contribute to the Senate's social media team.

This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites:


  • A bachelor's degree or college diploma in communications, journalism or related field of study or related field of study or an acceptable combination of related education and experience;
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the communications field;
  • Experience using metrics to track and measure the impact of initiatives on social media;
  • Experience providing strategic planning and organizational advice;
  • Experience planning and implementing strategies aimed at engaging targeted audiences on social media;
  • Experience developing creative social content;
  • Understanding of the strengths and opportunities offered by platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn;
  • Knowledge of Adobe Create Cloud suite, Microsoft suite and Hootsuite;
  • Ability to provide guidance and execute storytelling initiatives;
  • Ability to explain complex topics in plain language in both official languages;
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to communicate technical matters to all members of staff up to senior managerial level.
