As the Intern, Founder Success, the work you do will be impactful for our founders, the startup community and for our organization.

During the 20-week internship, you will contribute to managing and executing seamless delivery of our programs, events and initiatives that help advance founders of early-stage and innovation-driven startups to scale efficiently.

For the right individual it is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact on early stage entrepreneurs and build a high value network of experienced professionals.

We value the contribution of our interns, and you'll be in the mix with hands-on experience in all aspects of our work

This role is a temporary contract position September 5th, 2023 to December 22, 2023.


The day-to-day activities of the Intern, Founder Success will include:

  • Collaborate with team members to aid in the planning and execution of events, programs and workshops including preparing documentation, assisting in set up and logistics, organization of meetings/schedules, and administrative tasks.
  • Participate in meetings, taking notes and producing the minutes of the meetings, and action plans decided and their follow up.
  • Conduct market research to uncover potential trends and identify gaps that can be addressed through workshops, resources, or self led programs.
  • Draft and send communications or updates to program participants.
  • Draft and share new programs, events, resources and opportunities to program alumni and members through various channels.
  • Document processes and capture workflows into a knowledge base.
  • Track and update program progress through project management software tools.
  • Actively collaborate with other departments to aid in the development and implementation of cross departmental initiatives.
  • Represent Platform Calgary by supporting and participating in community based events.
  • Perform other ad hoc support and respond to requests as needed.
  • You are enrolled full or part time in a Canadian College or University
  • You must also be located in Calgary, or open to relocate for onsite work a few days a week.
  • You hold a Canadian citizenship, Permanent Residency, or refugee status.

During the interview process, we will be looking for:

  • An ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment where competing priorities and iteration is the norm, without dropping the ball.
  • Competency in G-Suite, Asana, Slack, Eventbrite, HubSpot are considered an asset.
  • You've got an eye for detail and execute with a high degree of accuracy.
  • You see a need and take steps to fill that need without being asked.
  • You are proactive and seek to solve problems before they arise.
  • We are looking for someone who can wear multiple hats that will go the extra mile.
