Job Description:


AECOM is seeking a Senior Consultant - Estimating to be based out of our any major Canadian offices.***
Job Requirements:
  • Development of cost estimating procedures
  • Development of direct and indirect costs, design unknowns, escalation and contingency etc. for complex projects
  • Reviewing and validating cost estimates both internal and external for clients
  • Participate in review meetings with clients.
  • Benchmarking for validation on major projects
  • Preparing schedules and cashflow supporting estimates
  • Establish standard unit costs, labour rates, equipment rates and productivity factors.
  • Performing cost and risk analysis
  • Preparing reports and presentations
  • For each estimate class determining:
  • Appropriate estimating techniques (benchmarking, parametric modelling, detailed estimating, etc.)
  • Appropriate estimating tool (client tools, customized estimating spreadsheets, industry estimating software, benchmarking, etc.)
  • Appropriate methodology for dealing with uncertainties (standard contingency factors, probabilistic estimating techniques, etc.)
  • Maintaining knowledge hub incorporating feedback and learning
  • Updating Best Practices in estimating
  • Updating estimating tools
  • Interfacing with client
  • Leading teams to deliver
  • Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal submission.
  • Support other departments, as required, in preparing estimates for other projects.
  • Provide technical assistance for contracts and change orders as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Construction Management + 6 (six) years of relevant experience doing estimating within mining and earthworks.
  • Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education could be considered.
