    Description

    This job opportunity is within the College of Nursing, where dedicated researchers are striving to develop fair and sustainable solutions to enhance health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities at local, national, and global levels. As a Research Coordinator, you will be part of the Nursing Unit for Research and Scholarship Excellence (NURSE) and operate from the research assistant office space in the Health Sciences building at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon campus.

    Primary Purpose:

    Reporting to the Associate Dean Research and Graduate Studies, you will provide post-award assistance to College of Nursing faculty members. Collaborating with principal investigators (PIs), you will facilitate the successful execution and supervision of research endeavors and projects funded by the college faculty.

    Nature of Work:

    With its multiple locations, the College of Nursing ranks as the largest non-departmentalized college at the University of Saskatchewan. This role, based at the Saskatoon campus, entails occasional travel across the province and involves reporting to the Associate Dean Research and Graduate Studies.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Research Project Management:
    • Coordinate project team meetings
    • Assist in drafting ethics applications
    • Support project and data management plans
    • Facilitate research staffing within set project budgets and timelines
    • Ensure smooth operation of research activities
    • Proofread research materials
    • Assist in creating presentations and dissemination of findings
    • Research Financial and Resource Management:
    • Monitor research progress and prepare reports
    • Handle new hire and financial requests
    • Collaborate with finance teams for research-related purchases
    • Support fund release processes
    • Participate in fostering a positive research environment within the College of Nursing
    • Attend research-related events and contribute to research strategies
    • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the research setting

    Qualifications:

    Requirements include a bachelor's degree in health science or related field, Master's degree preferred, along with project management certification or training.

    Experience:

    Three years of research support experience, including fund management, grant support, and database management. Experience in program management and conducting qualitative and quantitative health research is advantageous.

    • Proficiency in research methodologies and data analysis tools

    Join the College of Nursing for a Term position of 1 year, with potential for extension or permanency. This full-time role offers a salary based on experience, with work hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
