JOB SUMMARY:


ATS is focused on growing our SuperTrak business and we are currently establishing a broader scope for our financial team to support the strategy.

As a member of the management team, your position will be both challenging and rewarding, including significant decision making responsibilities.

You will be responsible for all financial reporting and budgeting processes for the division. Your team provides financial and analytical support for all operations and sales activities within the division.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


INTERNAL CONTROL, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  • Plan, organize, and guide team members through the financial reporting of the division
  • Develop and train Financial team members to ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to in a proactive and consistent manner within the division
  • Regularly review policies with other team members to develop ATS best practices
  • Review and assess areas of business risk within the division
  • Maintenance of the internal controls for the division

FINANCIAL REPORTING AND ACCOUNTING

  • Direct the monthly close process, driving a 7 days close process to 5 days
  • Responsible for ensuring that the financial reporting is in accordance with IFRS
  • Oversee the effective management of internal and external auditors
  • Drive system implementations, enhancements and controllership projects (account reconciliation, operational reporting, MJE, etc.)
  • Partner with Corporate Shared Services to identify synergy opportunities
  • Liaison with professional advisors on legal, audit and accounting matters as required
  • Coordinate the preparation of year end audit files

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

  • Prepare divisional annual budgets, forecasts and long term plans as required
  • Work with the GM to identify corporate wide cost savings opportunities, and opportunities for efficiency gains in day to day operational activities
  • Work with the Vice President, Finance to develop and implement a performance measurement system for the division, including implementation of the ATS Scorecard at the division
  • Work with Corporate Finance Staff to arrange financing for division operations as required, including bank financing and government assistance where appropriate
  • Participate in M&A integration activities, in conjunction with the Segment and Corporate Development teams

Additional Information:


QUALIFICATIONS:


As a designated accountant (preferably a CA designation or a CMA with relative experience) you will have experience in a job cost manufacturing environment.

You will be responsible for the effectiveness of internal controls, and compliance with government regulations and Bill 198/Sarbanes-Oxley.


Education:


  • A postsecondary diploma or degree specializing in accounting, finance or equivalent. A professional financial designation such as CA, CPA, CMA or CGA is required.

Experience:


  • A minimum of 8 years' of experience in accounting/controllership roles of increasing responsibilities (manufacturing, financial and cost accounting environment)
  • Excellent communication and strong analytical skills are required
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and commit to accuracy and attention to detail required
  • Previous work experience in a Big 4 is a plus
  • Strong organization skills and work ethic
  • Willing to work in a fast moving, complex international environment
  • Selfstarter and proactive approach
