Responsibilities:


  • The Communications Coordinator will perform a wide range of communication and social media duties to support the faculty. The incumbent will carry out communicationsbased functions such as social media posting and analytics, newsletters, and corporate communicaiton pieces while communicating and building relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts. The Communications Coordinator will anticipate and resolve issues, coordinate projects, and implement communications procedures. The incumbent will serve as a principal source of information regarding current faculty events and initiatives. The incumbent may be required to provide analysis, information and reports on primary business objectives (e.g. social media analytics, website statiics, external advertising campaigns.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Undergraduate Degree, in communications, journalism, or similar field preferred

Experience:

  • 1 year of administrative experience in an office environment

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • Familiarity with social media best practices and analytics
  • Familiarity with strorywriting, news releases, and corporate communications
  • Familiarity with University policies and procedures preferred
  • Ability to ensure internal and external communications plans, processes, strategies, and systems postively reflect the faculty's image and reputation
  • Ability to foster collaboration and respect among team members
  • Communication skills with confidence interacting with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, cascade, and social media platforms
  • Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a professional and timely manner
  • Detailoriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to create a positive impression while interacting with others and responding to inquiries, by telephone, in person or electronically
  • Resultsoriented with an ability to handle many tasks and maintain a high level of individual and team performance
