Specialized Tutor - Montréal, Canada - Brightside Learning

Position Overview
- Work oneonone with students in elementary, high school and Cegep
- Help students plan and complete their homework, and study for upcoming tests
- Help students implement Brightside Learning's executive function strategies around organization, time management and planning
- Communicate with student's coach and parents regularly to discuss progress
Qualifications & Knowledge - Cegep degree in a related field or relevant experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with diverse learners
- Ability to provide tutoring for high school math and science courses
- Bilingual in English and French
- Excellent ability to explain academic concepts in varying ways (people just seem to understand things when you explain it to them)
- Ability to connect with and build impactful relationships with students
- An understanding of how the school system works, including typical practices regarding teaching methods, homework, grading systems and gradelevel expectations
- Proven ability in liaising with parents
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Excellent ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technology

Training and Supervision: Before being matched with students, tutors must successfully complete company provided virtual training. Tutors are also provided opportunities for ongoing professional development and supervision.
Compensation:
Tutors are compensated as independent contractors at a rate of $26.00 per session hour.
Our tutors provide and maintain portal notes for each client and check-in with students and families in-between sessions as needed.

Part-time
Part-time hours: 12-25 per week
Salary:
$26.00 per hour
