Job Summary:
Resumes are being accepted for the position of


Hours of Work


Five (5) consecutive shifts alternating on three (3) shifts from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, commencing Sunday night at 11:00 pm through Friday at 11:00 pm.

The shifts for this position will be 4:00 pm to 12:00 am.


Your Role

  • Carry out inspection, maintenance, service and repair on City Fleet assets.
  • Assigns, schedules, plans, directs, coordinates, and monitors the work activities of the maintenance team members.
  • Provide support and technical direction to work teams as required.
  • Assists in the development, monitors and schedules preventative maintenance in accordance with maintenance programs and schedules of City Fleet assets.
  • Maintain equipment inspection records retained for equipment maintenance
  • Documenting work crew activities and perform maintenance activities as required
  • Ensure that all safety and operational procedures are followed during equipment maintenance including assist in the monitoring of the Division's compliance with shop safety and established customer service standards
  • Assist in the development of reasonable expectancies and maintenance staff performance.
  • Assist with the identification, resolution and reporting of planned activity variances
  • Acquire material and equipment required to execute work plans
  • Represent the department in a professional manner with internal and external contacts
  • Comply with all applicable regulations, policies and procedures
  • Responsible for and complying with the health and safety of staff in accordance with the Occupational health and Safety Act and applicable Federal, Provincial and City regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Automotive, Truck & Coach Technician Licence (both 310S and 310T designation)
  • Strong leadership abilities, interpersonal, and communication skills with experience in directing and assigning work to others, including training and monitoring work performance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge & experience of relevant maintenance procedures, technology and equipment related to Municipal Fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Must be able to perform physical work (e.g. heavy lifting, repetitive tasks, various levels of standing, climbing, sitting & crouching as required)
  • Sound organizational skills, initiative, and ability to perform tasks independently and prioritize the work of others.
  • Demonstrates integrity, diplomacy and understanding of confidentiality and privacy issues.
  • Sound judgement and decisionmaking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, while working under pressure to balance competing priorities, complimented by Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders, and the general public.
  • Intermediate functionality with MS office software, particularly Excel and relevant work order systems (i.e., Synergen/WAM)
  • Must be able to work with or without supervision
  • Must possess good team skills and have a sincere focus on quality customer service
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Rate
$39.49 per hour
