The Opportunity:


In keeping with the mission, vision and values of Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, the Hospital Coordinator is a leader responsible for Hospital operations and management of all departments in the absence of Management and Administrative teams.

He/she provides an environment that supports inter-professional practice and evidence-based practice within a patient-centered care philosophy. He/she communicates with patients, families, internal and external resources to facilitate patient-centered care across the continuum of health.


Qualifications:


  • Current registration in good standing with governing clinical college
  • Previous clinical experience of 35 years
  • Recent experience working in a Hospital setting; either in a clinical or managerial role
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in management or supervisory role
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, patients, families, physicians, interdisciplinary team members and personnel from other hospital departments
  • Demonstrated focus on patient and staff safety through quality management
  • Demonstrated effective conflict resolution skills
  • Must strive to continuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers
  • Must adhere to the duties of workers, as stipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Must have an ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provide excellent communication with team members, patients and families.
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be dedicated to professional growth & development
  • Must be able to perform all bona fide and essential duties of the position, which may include physical demands such as moving/transferring patients, pushing, pulling, bending, etc.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent attendance/performance record
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with other members of the health care team
  • Registered Nurse with applicable qualifications preferred
  • Management/Leadership courses/certification preferred
  • University Degree in related clinical field preferred
  • Ability to communicate in additional language(s) is considered an asset.
  • Scheduling experience an asset

Hours of Work:
Mon-Fri: Evenings, Sat, Sun and Holidays 12:00 to 20:00 with on-call. Please be reminded that as a Hospital, in order to provide the necessary patient care, our operations run 24/7.

Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.


Wage:
$48.14 to $55.81 per hour
