The Opportunity:

In keeping with the mission, vision and values of Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, the Hospital Coordinator is a leader responsible for Hospital operations and management of all departments in the absence of Management and Administrative teams.

He/she provides an environment that supports inter-professional practice and evidence-based practice within a patient-centered care philosophy. He/she communicates with patients, families, internal and external resources to facilitate patient-centered care across the continuum of health.

Qualifications:

Current registration in good standing with governing clinical college
Previous clinical experience of 35 years
Recent experience working in a Hospital setting; either in a clinical or managerial role
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in management or supervisory role
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, patients, families, physicians, interdisciplinary team members and personnel from other hospital departments
Demonstrated focus on patient and staff safety through quality management
Demonstrated effective conflict resolution skills
Must strive to continuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers
Must adhere to the duties of workers, as stipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Must have an ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provide excellent communication with team members, patients and families.
Must have basic computer skills
Must be dedicated to professional growth & development
Must be able to perform all bona fide and essential duties of the position, which may include physical demands such as moving/transferring patients, pushing, pulling, bending, etc.
Must have demonstrated excellent attendance/performance record
Excellent organization and prioritization skills
Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with other members of the health care team
Registered Nurse with applicable qualifications preferred
Management/Leadership courses/certification preferred
University Degree in related clinical field preferred
Ability to communicate in additional language(s) is considered an asset.

Hours of Work:
Mon-Fri: Evenings, Sat, Sun and Holidays 12:00 to 20:00 with on-call. Please be reminded that as a Hospital, in order to provide the necessary patient care, our operations run 24/7.

Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.

Wage:
$48.14 to $55.81 per hour
