Purpose:


Osgoode Professional Development (OsgoodePD) is a revenue-generating professional education branch of Osgoode Hall Law School, operating within a highly competitive commercial market for professional and executive continuing education.

OsgoodePD offers degree and non-degree programs to both domestic and international students.

Offerings include full-time and part-time graduate degree and diploma programs, non-degree certificates, seminars and skills workshops, summer school and bridging programs, webinars, and custom training for corporations and government.

Staff and programs are located at both the York University campus and OsgoodePD's downtown Toronto office.

Reporting to the Director, CLE Programs, the Program Lawyer, In-House and Custom Programs role promotes, develops, and manages delivery of OsgoodePD's in-house and custom training which contributes directly to OsgoodePD's non-credit revenue.

The role manages and builds OsgoodePD's large inventory of asynchronous content for use in in-house and custom sales and for new product development for sale through the OsgoodePD website.

The role develops strategies to continuously expand OsgoodePD's B2B business, assess client needs, source instructors and existing or new content, and works with client and instructors to develop programs that meet client needs.

The role provides oversight of quality development and execution of in-house and custom programs delivered virtually and/or live in Toronto, and in other locations within and outside of Canada.

In addition, the role develops relationships to identify and create market sponsorship opportunities.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
Canadian LLB/JD along with admission to the Bar in a Canadian Province.
Post-graduate certificate or degree in adult-education.


Experience:

5 years related experience.
3 years of legal practice experience.
5 years experience in continuing legal education development.
Experience in B2B lead generation and sales of continuing education products to professional markets.


Skills:

Effective knowledge of sales and strategic planning.
Familiarity with accreditation process(es).
Effective understanding of B2B sales practices.
Effective communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Effective planning, organization, and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Effective customer service, business development, and relationship management skills.
Ability to assess client needs and match programming to client needs.
Effective leadership and B2B sales skills.
Sales and contract negotiation skills.


Additional Notes:

Normal office working environment. Regular travel to off-site event locations. On occasion, overnight and air travel may be required.

Compensation:


York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.

Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
