The Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry provides outstanding education within a research

The Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry is the largest Faculty on the Western University campus and employs over 2,000 part-time and full-time faculty and over 1,500 staff.


The Centre for Studies in Family Medicine (CSFM) is an interdisciplinary team of investigators, research, and administrative staff recognized nationally and internationally as leaders in family medicine and primary health care research.

The CSFM's research is based on the principles of patient-centred care, and takes place in three contexts: clinical care; the community; and the health care system.


The Healthy Aging/Healthy Lifestyles research program focuses on the community-based study of lifestyle interventions for chronic disease prevention, management and control.

Dr. Petrella's research is dedicated to furthering multi
- and inter-disciplinary research on aging, physical activity, lifestyle management, chronic diseases, and innovative technologies to improve the quality of life of Canadians across their lifespan.


Responsibilities:


Qualifications:


Education:

Completion of Clinical Trials certificate, mandated certification including WHIMS, Good Clinical Practice, and related certifications. Medical degree or health professional degree ie nursing preferred.


Experience:

Minimum 3 years, experience in the direct coordination of clinical trials, preferred
Experience conducting research with older individuals
Knowledge of clinical research process


Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the design and conduct of clinical trials, including electronic data capture
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Research Ethics Board processes
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage research projects as well as meet or exceed recruitment targets
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as organizational skills with outstanding attentiontodetail and
- accuracy

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of computers and demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office 2010 (e.g.
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Ability to work independently and maintain direction and focus through proactive planning and organized
- approaches to work;

  • Demonstrated ability to research/investigate issues and resolve problems;
  • Familiarity with University research policies and practices
  • Ability to adhere to legislated safety requirements and Western safety policies
