an Assistant Professor position in Veterinary Physiology
to join the dynamic multidisciplinary team of the Department
of Veterinary Biomedicine. The FMV is located in Saint-Hyacinthe, the agricultural capital of Quebec with
57 000 inhabitants. The FMV is located 60 km (37 miles) from Montreal, a vibrant city with an international airport
and excellent flight connections to Europe, the USA and South America. The FMV is also within easy reach of the
beautiful, historic Quebec City and Ottawa, the capital of Canada. The FMV is located off campus, but maintains
strong collaborative ties to other faculties at the _Université de Montréal_ and other universities within the province.
FMV is ranked among the top 30 veterinary educational institutions in the world, according to the QS World University

The Department of Veterinary Biomedicine, consisting of 17 Faculty professors and 5 adjunct professors, provides
a dynamic research and training environment. Our focus spans fundamental and experimental pharmacology and
toxicology, molecular and integrative physiology, genomics, proteomics, animal modeling, and reproductive biology,
with strong connections to translational and clinical research. The FMV is seeking expertise in digestive physiology,
nutrition, and the intestinal microbiome of animals.

The successful applicant is expected to develop a cutting-edge independent, extramurally funded research
programs and interact with members of the Department of Veterinary Biomedicine and other
departments/colleagues of the FMV to develop multidisciplinary collaborative research projects.

As a professor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of the Faculty of Veterinary

Medicine
through your teaching and your research activities. You will also ensure the visibility of your discipline in addition
to actively participate in the operation of a renowned institution


As such, you will:


Participate in teaching of veterinary undergraduate students; 

Supervise and train graduate students at Master's, Ph. D. and postdoctoral levels; 

Develop an independent research program aligned with the posting, the activities of the Department of
Veterinary Biomedicine and the Faculty; 

Participate in outreach activities of your discipline (publications, conferences, others); 

Contribute to the overall activities of the University (departmental or faculty committees).

**To succeed in this role, you'll need: **PhD degree in a relevant area; 

Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DMV) or equivalent would be considered an asset; 

Postdoctoral experience (or equivalent) is considered an advantage; 

Strong track-record of publications demonstrating scientific excellence; 

Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment, critical to establishing collaborative research within the
Department of Veterinary Biomedicine and the Faculty; 

An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language
or a strong commitment to mastering the
proficiency level required, in accordance to Université de Montréal's Language Policy. An institutional learning
support program is offered to all professors wishing to learn French or improve their communication skills.
