Maintenance Shop (Carpentry/Grounds)

Start Date: July 2, 2024

Duration: Approximately 6.5 Weeks (Funding has been provided through the Summer Experience Opportunity)

Location: Belleville, Ontario

Schedule: 36 hours per week (Monday through Thursday)

Salary: $16.55 per hour

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) serves approximately 15,400 students each day at 39 in-person schools (32 elementary, two K-12; four 7-12, one secondary). Responsibilities: The student position of Maintenance Shop (Carpentry/Grounds) will perform duties assigned by the supervisor such as; assisting with small projects and repairs inside and outside, and perform lawn maintenance at various Board owned locations. This position will assist with permits and contribute to a high standard of cleanliness and safety.

Requirements: Our summer student positions are made available through grant funding and to be eligible for this position, students must be currently enrolled in a secondary, or post-secondary institution or within six (6) months of graduation and must be at least 15 years of age upon commence of employment. Must be capable of performing the above duties which may involve; physical exertion, moving/carrying objects and climbing up and down ladders. Must possess demonstrated teamwork and communication skills.
