Piling Lead Hand

Position Summary


The
Piling Lead Hand is in good physical condition and provides support to the piler as required; signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement or adjustment of machinery, equipment or materials to ensure timely project completion.

The
Piling Lead Hand follows good work practices and procedures and sets a good example for new crew members and co-workers.

The lead hand may operate a variety of equipment and instruments, including hand and power tools.


Responsibilities

  • Work with the piling operator and install piling systems in accordance with the project specifications
  • Assist with equipment inspections and movements
  • Perform a variety of general construction work as required on the job site
  • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Accept direction from the and from the Field Supervisor and/or Project Manager as required

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of construction is required and previous experience in piling would be an asset
  • Previous experience in rebar, forming, placing, helical piling, layout, use of demolition hammers considered an asset
  • Be physically fit and hard working
  • Have excellent attendance, punctuality and dependability
  • Have the interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively on a team
  • Be selfmotivated, take initiative and be keen to learn new skills
  • Have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset
  • Located in the Greater Vancouver area, some out of town work but THIS IS NOT A CAMP JOB

Salary:
$25.00-$33.00 per hour
