The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Clerk IV to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division, Business Support Department.
Reporting to the Manager, Administration and Business Services, in this unionized position you will be responsible for administrative work at the supervisory level.

You will assign and review the work of the business support team, assist with the implementation of new work programs and processes, and lead our in-person customer service initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Assign tasks and review the work of business support staff and provide departmental training and guidance as required
Maintain a corporate records system in accordance with established standards and procedures
Explain and interpret rules, regulations and policies to internal and external contacts
Assist with the transition of paper permitting processes to an online environment
Represent the Engineering Business Support Department on internal committees
Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 is preferable, including or supplemented by elementary accounting and commercial courses; Considerable related experience, preferably as a Clerk III, or equivalent combination of training and experience
Sound knowledge of records management, billing, indexing, and related clerical functions
Considerable knowledge of the applicable department rules, regulations and procedures related to Engineering permits and modern business processes
Ability to prepare, compile and check reports and maintain complex records
Ability to assign, review and direct the work of staff engaged in business support functions
Ability to effectively communicate with internal/external contacts and the public
Experience with database administration and supervisory experience is preferred
The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $ per hour (5 steps, 2020 rates) plus benefits. The hours of work are 7 hours per day Monday to Friday between 8:30am - 4:30pm.
