Schedule

Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Job Duties

  • Follows cyclical menus and recipes
  • Prepare ethnically diverse meals for the cafeteria and catered events including preparation of soups, daily menus, entrees, vegetables, sauces, gravies, etc., and ensures primary preparation for the entrée items are completed for the following day
  • Greets customers and provides friendly and courteous service, while preparing order as per request, at the customer facing grill station; includes breakfast and short order
  • Ensures that all food remains eyeappealing and replenished throughout the service
  • Tear down and clean line after service
  • Ensure that correct storage conditions for products such as meats, produce, and dairy are maintained
  • Receives, quality checks and stores all incoming food and nonfood orders
  • Assist other cooks as required or extra duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years industrial cooking and food service experience
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, meet time targets, with strong organization skills
  • Solid knowledge of food preparation and handling principles, processes, procedures, policies, directives and guidelines
  • Knowledge of equipment and materials to use / operate used in food preparation areas such as grills, ovens, deep fryers, slicers, steamers and knives
  • Current Safe Food Handlers Certificate required
  • Drivers License (G)
  • Current CPR and First Aid would be an asset
  • Successful Police Check will be required

Salary:
$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
