FCSS Youth Outreach Worker

Temporary, Full-time - 35 hours / week

8-month term

$ $51.36 hourly

We are currently recruiting a temporary, full-time FCSS Youth Outreach Worker for our Family and Community Support Services department.

What is the Opportunity?


Reporting to the Lead, FCSS Direct Client Services, this position is responsible for providing outreach services to youth in the community, supporting at-risk youth by engaging them in healthy activities and working with them one-on-one to increase their assets and connection to the community.

What will you do?- Primarily maintaining a caseload of youth clients, ages Providing resources, referrals, and advocacy to support youth in accessing services- Maintaining partnerships with internal departments and external agencies to better support youth and provide wrap around services- Administrative lead and liaison for City of Leduc Youth Council- Administrative lead and liaison for Cit of Leduc Internal Youth Working Group- Supporting walk-in clients of all ages and demographics during weekly office coverage days- Participating in youth-related initiatives, workshops, events, and strategic planning

What will you need to succeed? Suicide Intervention, mental health first aid and Standard First Aid are required- Minimum of three (3) years' experience, specializing in direct client high risk youth- Experience in crisis intervention, specifically related to working with adolescents and families- Specialized knowledge of adolescent development, mental health and addictions would be considered an asset- Experience and training with Emergency Social Services (ESS) is considered an asset- Excellent independent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently to respond to tight timelines- Attention to detail and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to enable team work and promote positive internal/external customer service- This position will require monthly weekday evening and weekend work and requires a vehicle- Competitive salary- Annual City of Leduc recreation pass, including access to free drop-in programs- Employee Family Assistance Program- Free Parking- Safe office location in a park-like setting
