Property Lead with a strong background leading, managing stakeholder and public consultation, and experience on a variety of infrastructure planning projects (e.g., municipal, transit) to join our growing team in Greater Toronto Area.
- Leading a team in the the development of property requirements, property acquisition strategies and permissions to enter to support the delivery of multidisciplinary heavy civil infrastructure projects
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously to meet project schedules, milestones, and deadlines
- Participate in project design development and provide property guidance as needed to other discipline teams within multidisciplinary projects
- Read and understand reference plans, engineering and architectural drawings related to transit infrastructure (including stations, tunnels, systems and surface elements) to identify property acquisition requirements
- Work with large multidisciplinary teams to determine their individual property requirements, identify conflicts/overlaps, and define overall project requirements
- Coordinate/lead as appropriate, negotiations with individual property owners to obtain Permission to Enter and sitespecific agreements
- Provide support for the development of various property related agreements, liaising with various parties (Metrolinx, City of Toronto, consultants, provincial agencies, and affected property owners) to ensure their timely execution
- Lead and/or attend meetings and working committees with the client, municipal and provincial agencies, concerning various property related issues
- Prepare various reports, presentations, etc. relating to area of responsibility
- Interpret legal documents including Project Agreements and Contracts
- Be adaptable and flexible to an everchanging and fastpaced working environment
- Think strategically and conceptually, analyze data, consider relevant issues, develop potential solutions and make recommendations
- Develop weekly and monthly progress reports, manage schedules, and identify schedule risks
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management/Planning, Urban Studies, Engineering or a related discipline
years of progressive and relevant experience:
- Excellent selfmanagement, time management and organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and multitask
- Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, property negotiations, and lease agreements strongly preferred
- Demonstrated track record of leading stakeholder engagement/consultation processes
- Experience in the expropriation process and land valuation is desirable
- Strong background in property acquisition, real estate development and or project infrastructure environment
- Strong knowledge of legal aspects of land development, construction staging, and local regulations strongly preferred
- Experience with environmental management and compliance processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; team oriented and ability to work independently
- Demonstrated sense of urgency with a strong commitment to ensuring client satisfaction, achieving goals and objectives
- Knowledge of and experience with project management fundamentals including cost control, scope management, scheduling
