The Role
Duties

  • Tool Repair and maintenance.
  • Supervision of all tool repair & tool maintenance staff as well as auditing the quality of the work performed

  • Maintenance of tool preventive maintenance program and documentation.
  • Refining of tool maintenance frequency and work procedures to reduce tool breakdowns.
  • Identifies recurring tool failures and recommends measures to improve.
  • Submits suggestions to improve tooling build standards.
  • Maintains tooling repair and maintenance spare part inventory.
  • Will manage emergency tool repairs so as to minimize manufacturing downtime.
  • Will provide technical assistance to repair and maintenance staff or seek other assistance from Tool Room Manager or outside sources.
  • Will seek to improve the throughput and efficiency of available resources.
  • Will assist in emergency repairs when necessary.
  • Will support Tool Room Manager and/or Tool Room Supervisor with other duties as assigned.
  • Will work closely with production or scheduling to find the most convenient window time for tooling repairs

  • Will clearly communicate tooling status to production and will immediately notify production of any delays.
  • Manage repairs and maintenance so that they are completed on time.
  • Attend Production meetings to discuss scheduling for tool repairs, PM's, and other tooling related issues.
  • Assist in housekeeping of Tool Room area.
  • If a Work Order is received and the tool is not transferred to the Tool Room, the tool must be tracked
21. down and brought to the shop.

  • Follow repair to the floor and ensure that the first off parts are acceptable.
Qualifications and Skills

  • Leadership Skills
  • Certified Mould Maker or equivalent
  • Communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Crane and Rigging.
  • Forms governing job function.
  • Understanding of key Quality & Environmental Management Systems procedures related to job function.
