General Accountability:


  • Reporting to the Head of Operations, Transit Expansion Operations, this strategic leadership position develops and oversees the integrated work planning process, interacting with leaders and various internal and external teams to facilitate the development and delivery of the YNSE, the SSE, the Ontario Line and the New Transit Control Centre. The work includes aligning board reporting to the project updates, ensuring accuracy and completeness of Board reports; coordination and management of TEA Operations Group and Metrolinx, and ensuring interdependencies and support functions are aligned to deliver.
  • The position will work with stakeholders across the organization including Executive and senior leaders and teams It requires strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to collaborate and problem solve with others, ability to make decisions, political acumen and ability to meet tight timelines. The incumbent must be able to adapt to change and bring innovative thinking to the role.

Key Job Functions:


  • Leads the development and updates on all project related agreements and work plans for the projects;
  • Builds, maintains and ensures positive working relations, including all correspondence with departmental and external stakeholders, industry, contractors and Transit authorities associated with assigned projects;
  • Liaises with the Business Transformation Group as required on critical programs;
  • Collects and documents project needs across the operations groups and other departments;
  • Organizes and facilitates program level meetings
  • Assists with and performs analysis of business needs to prepare justification for new initiatives;
  • Amalgamates key performance indicators and measures for the TEA
  • Ops group as required;
  • Reviews and edits reports and presentations for final submission;
  • Monitors, tracks and reports on deliverables set out in the project plans, TTC Corporate Plan and priorities;
  • Ensures project initiatives, projects/programs, processes and policies are delivered in a timely and well integrated manner;
  • Collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders to identify and prioritize deliverables;
  • Develops and maintains effective relations with internal and external business partners;
  • Works collaboratively with the Executive Team and senior management to ensure deliverables are on target, completed on schedule and within budget;
  • Identifies issues, methodologies, teams and impacts on deliverables;
  • Manages conflict between individual project groups;Manages two administrative assistants responsible for maintaining terms of reference, agendas, minutes, action logs and documenting decisions to support work plans and deliverables;
  • Manages Board report agendas and ensures timely delivery of reports which includes reviewing and editing reports to ensure accuracy and strong communication to Board on deliverables;
  • Maintains a continuous and thorough knowledge of current corporate and other departmental and Group projects, issues and initiatives;
  • Prepares reports and makes presentations to senior leadership in Operations Group and other executives;
  • Promotes cross departmental information sharing, coordination and alignment;
  • Actively pursues continuous improvement of organizational processes and tools;
  • Acts as the delegate for the Head of Operations TEA Group;
