Nearly 40 full-time staff contribute to the organization's success, including experts in competency design and assessment, and health and education program development.
About Practice Ready Ontario (PRO)
Funded by the Government of Ontario, Touchstone Institute works closely with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Medical Council of Canada, and others while administering the PRO program.
PRO is a workplace assessment program that aims to add internationally trained family physicians or general practitioners who have completed post-graduate training and have an established track record of work in another country to practice in rural communities in Ontario.
Position Description
Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy and Business Performance, the PRO Project Manager oversees the PRO project from planning through delivery, working closely with the PRO managers and Senior Director responsible for its design and implementation.
They will be part of a virtual business unit supporting PRO and act as a liaison between project team members, cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and other relevant parties, as required.
Their primary responsibility is to ensure effective communication within the team, the department and with the Executive Committee regarding PRO deliverables, requirements, schedules, costs, and meeting plans.
Key Accountabilities- Oversee the PRO project from planning and initiation to execution and completion.
- Lead and collaborate effectively with PRO project team members, crossfunctional teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate PRO project deliverables, requirements, schedules, costs, and meeting plans to all parties involved.
- Proactively identify and manage PRO project risks and issues.
- Monitor PRO project progress and performance against established benchmarks.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to address challenges.
- Ensure PRO project documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Foster strong relationships with internal staff to be able to provide support and solutions for related PRO project needs
- Provides advice and direction to senior leadership to further develop Touchstone Institute's organizational strategy
- Oversees the lifecycle of PRO program integration processes and takes initiative for PRO process improvement possibilities
- Establishes clear PRO project governance structures by identifying project resources and defining roles and responsibilities
- Contributes to the development and delivery of other projects as may be directed by the Vice President to support the organization's work.
Abilities
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and scope.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello).
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to explain complex systems in simple terms
- Strong demonstrable leadership skills with the personal presence to manage internal staff, vendors and consultants
- Thorough knowledge of current webbased and software products, data processing principles and practices and office/project automation principles
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Project Management Professional Certificate (PMP) Required.
- Experience in managing Healthcare projects is Required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management.
- Experience in managing government funded projects is an asset.
