Look no further than Zurich Canada.- If you have experience in insurance managing people and are looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.- Zurich Canada is currently looking for an Underwriting Associate Supervisor to lead a team of operations support staff.- Reporting to the Senior Underwriting Account Services Manager, you will lead, motivate and develop operations support staff, supporting one or more business units in a processing location and delivering excellent service.- This is a unique opportunity to build your knowledge and experience for the future in a supportive environment where your voice matters.

This is a hybrid job opportunity.- What you will do- Core- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and data completeness for files.


  • Ensure that process breakdowns between UA/UW/ISS are addressed and facilitate resolutions.
  • Work with teams to ensure that the workflow and workbook are delivered according to SLAs.
  • Execute established workflow/processes of a functional area or accountability.
  • Ensure that the volume of work produced by the unit meets or exceeds the product/service standards and quality standards.
  • Contribute as a playercoach to facilitate a) robust understanding of workflow processes and b) support peak time demands and manage a limited number of accounts on a regular basis, c) help with effective coaching on complex cases.
  • Collaborate with UWs to ensure smooth process flows and engage with UWs and UAs to build strong working partnership.
  • Work with team on performance management activities such as objective setting, ongoing performance reviews, and yearend reviews.
  • Support performance evaluations and coach/counsel others.


Ancillary- Make recommendations on improving operational processes of the respective functional area of responsibility in line with appropriate stakeholders and managers.


  • Check and report, as required, actual against scheduled production and production quality.
  • Identify training needs of team with manager
  • Schedule and organize personnel to accommodate workflow. Alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Anticipate the needs of customers and plan to meet them individually or through others.
  • Network with other teams to ensure comprehensive solutions to customer needs.
  • Identify, recommend and implement solutions to immediate problems.
  • Recommend process improvements in line with E2E workflow.
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation, implementation and communication of established policy, procedures and operating standards is completed f or area of responsibility.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate activities. Participate in or lead risk assessment for the area of responsibility and escalate potential issues to higher management.


  • Job Qualifications

  • What you bring to the table
  • Required:
  • Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Operations or Underwriting area
OR- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Operations or Underwriting area


Preferred:

  • People management experience
  • Familiarity with production/metrics performance environment
  • Experience preparing and managing operational budgets
  • Insurance certifications or insurance coursework
