The Counter and Warehouse Support Representative is responsible for handling customer requests (i.e. product information, quotation request, order entry, customer and vendor returns) that come in directly or indirectly from customers or through the Outside Sales Representatives as well as helping out in the Warehouse when needed.


Responsibilities:


  • Accurately enter customer requests for quote/orders/customer returns into IMS's ERP system as requested by customer and management
  • Provide accurate information to customers and troubleshoot when required
  • Provide customers with a positive experience by delivering the best possible service with complete solution alternatives that includes involving peers and specialists
  • Work closely and cooperatively with all company employees, customers, and vendors
  • Participate in learning opportunities
  • Develop relationships with vendors that will create favourable business conditions (greater margin and accurate delivery dates) for Independent Mechanical Supply
  • Develop relationships with customers that positions Independent Mechanical Supply as their first choice for purchasing material
  • Work with other departments (Heating/Project/Counter/Warehouse) to ensure customer's orders and quotes are provided on time, and accurately
  • Coordinate customer returns from delivered projects/orders with the customer and our vendors to minimize the negative impact to the customer and vendor while maximizing profitably for Independent Mechanical Supply
  • Warehouse Picking, Packing, Shipping and Receiving
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:


  • Plumbing and Heating industry experience
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Plumbing and Heating Industry wholesaler products
  • Proficiency in Microsoft, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat, AS400 and other Order Entry Software and Internet Information Gathering/Research
  • Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven fast paced and high pressure environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, planning skills, and attention to detail
  • Continual desire to learn and grow
  • Ability to work in a noisy, hectic, and fastpaced environment
  • Ability to work outside ordinary office hours (i.e. Saturday shifts)
  • Obsessed with Exceeding Expectations
