Tundra has a new opportunity for a
Construction Supervisor based out of our
Estevan, Saskatchewan office. Note, this is a field focused position.


As a member of the Facilities and Construction group, the Construction Supervisor will possess full working knowledge of operations in areas of plant, field, construction and/or reclamation, pipelines, or a combination of the aforementioned.

Reporting to the Facilities and Construction Manager, some specific duties and responsibilities of the Construction Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the assignment, coordination, scheduling and supervision of the field construction.
  • Control project schedule, cost and scope through continual communication with company and contractor personnel to ensure proper prioritization and project efficiency.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed, understood and observed.
  • Serve as a mentor and rolemodel for field Construction Foreman and crews.
  • Communicate nearmisses and implement changes to ensure safe operations.
  • Liaise with HSE on improvement strategies.
  • Ensure construction projects are planned and executed safely, on time, and on budget.
  • Work with Facilities group to lead and deliver construction projects, mobilizing resources, materials, tools and equipment required to erect and install project components according to comprehensive construction plans and objectives.
  • Review drawings for constructability in conjunction with contractor/engineers.
  • Provide direct interface with contractor.
  • Communicate work plans with operations and safety.
  • Cost tracking and daily reporting through Siteview.
  • Obtain Project Manager's approval for all changes.
  • Review contractor milestone progress.
  • Evaluate change orders as requested by Facilities & Construction Manager/Project Managers.
  • Monitor and coordinate milestones.
  • Oversee contractor schedule performance through a review and comparison to overall project schedule.


  • QUALITY

  • Ensures project QA/QC processes are in place and are executed consistently with respect to safety, health, environmental and construction policies and procedures for contractor and company personnel through:
  • Coordinate kick-off meeting with contractor for all new activities.
  • Ensure projects are completed and documented consistent with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement through training, lessons learned reviews and incident/accident investigations.
  • Ensure all contract and company personnel perform activities regulated by law, policy or procedure and have proper training and certifications.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Education or training in project management
  • Oil Field Operating is considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, primarily in earthworks, facility & pipeline construction, project management, or other industry related experience (preferably on Oil & Gas projects).
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Civil construction experience is required.
  • Mechanical construction experience is required
  • Understanding of construction drawings
  • PFD, P&ID's, ISO, Plot plans, Surveys. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook at a basic level
  • Understanding of AutoCAD drafting at a basic level

  • Fundamentals of process piping construction is an asset


  • CSA Z66

  • Fundamentals of pipeline construction is an asset

  • Required to drive to a variety of work sites using company vehicles including allterrain vehicles, snowmobiles, etc.
  • Exposed to all weather conditions.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations.
  • Adhere to the safety accountabilities as per Tundra's Safety Policy.
