You will be expected to be a part of the teams' rotational on-call duties and, when required, be a part of after-hours project deployments in the evenings or weekends.

  • You thrive on consistently meeting and/or exceeding user expectations pertaining to the delivery of critical Canadian & International online and batch processing through the provision of firstline technical support activities.
  • When called upon, you want to play a vital role in system recovery; expedient service restoration; and as well, data security & code promotions.
  • You thrive in providing technical support to various user groups and/or acts as a liaison between various competing interests in the timely processing and completion of highprofile project implementations.
  • You are fine with rotational work shifts in a 24x7 operations environment, including days, evening, overnights, weekends & banking + statutory holidays. Staff members can be asked to work three 12hour shifts per week on a rotating basis of days and nights.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • You have excellent communication (verbal & written) skills to ensure incidents/problems are understood and documented accordingly.
  • You have at least 2+ years of handson technical working experience in an IT operationsbased environment.
  • You have at least 2+ years of handson technical working experience with IBM's Robot Console for IBM i (formerly known as AS/400 or i5/OS).
  • You have at least 2+ years of handson technical working experience in performing an Initial Program Load (IPL) on an AS/400 iSeries (also known as IBM System i) environment.
  • You have handson working experience in the use of an IT ticketing system that spans incident management, problem management & knowledge management.
  • You have experience in the use of IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC) for a multiple logical partition (LPAR) environment, IBM Report/Data Archive and Retrieval System (R/DARS) and IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD).
  • You possess working knowledge of monitoring tools like IBM's AQA-Synthetic Transaction Monitor (STM) and ServiceNow.
  • You can function in a fastpaced, highpressure environment.
  • You can adapt to change in process/procedure to accommodate our customers while focusing on risk mitigation and customer service.
  • You have excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple problems from simple to complex concurrently.
  • Postsecondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in a related field.
