True Mechanical has a full-time opening for a Mechanical Field Superintendent to work on our multi-family, office and mixed-use commercial projects in the Greater Vancouver Area.

Technical Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the mechanical industry with 5 years in a similar role
  • Portfolio with 3 to 5 projects completed in the last 10 years
  • Interprovincial (Red Seal) Plumbing & Gas B Certification
  • Indepth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, quality management and Occupational Health & Safety best practices
  • Comprehensive knowledge of British Columbia Plumbing Code (BCPC)
  • Intermediate (to advanced) knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

Qualifications

  • 5 years' experience in similar role
  • 10+ years in the mechanical industry (preferably in BC) in residential construction
  • Engaging personality with a solutiondriven approach to complex challenges
  • Team player with the ability to make authoritative and disciplinary decisions as required
  • Willingness to take accountability for errors and ability to acknowledge areas for improvement
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills; the ability to strengthen and maintain valuable relationships with vendors, subtrades and clients
  • Good understanding of construction documents and the ability to review for accuracy and constructability
  • Communicate clearly staff expectations and develop performance measurements and incentives
  • Knowledge of finance and budget management, including the ability to plan ahead with project teams to avoid costly issues and project delays
  • Ability to plan and manage a project schedule
  • Ability to facilitate longterm partnerships with key stakeholders, ensuring True Mechanical's contribution to their continuing success
  • Emotional intelligence, including the ability to prioritize "morale" and teambuilding as a crucial element of productivity
  • Indepth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, quality management, health and safety best practices and extensive plumbing code knowledge
  • Red Seal Plumber & Class B or Class A Gas Fitter
  • Ability to read all disciplines construction drawings, plans and blueprints
  • Well organized and meticulous in dealing which multiple sites
  • Able to communicate and report effectively (both written and verbal)
  • Selfmotivated and driven to resolve problems under all circumstances
  • Engaged personality capable to take on complex challenges with enthusiasm
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team but also act authoritatively as necessary
  • Willingness to admit when he has made a mistake and take ownership
  • Able to build and maintain solid relationships with vendors, subtrades and clients
