Your opportunity:
This is a very exciting time for Property Management at the University of Toronto and as the principal contact for clients' service needs, the priority of this position will be highly focused on supporting the commercial real estate team.
In this position, you will assist with new property developments and property acquisitions, while also developing procedures and expediting policies.
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Commercial Property Management, the incumbent will be responsible to provide and maintain the highest level of customer service to the building occupants.
In the commercial property management portfolio, this position will be responsible for the on-going management of numerous facilities that willinclude the daily operations, internal services, external service providers, managing various projects, budget expenditures and revenues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Selecting appropriate contractors and consultants based on work required
- Generating tender packages
- Checking that contracts are fulfilled as per the general conditions of the contract
- Ensuring compliance with building codes that would affect the certification or status of the University or a facility
- Researching and recommending suitability of major building fabric and envelope materials and equipment
- Reviewing technical design documents prior to revision
Essential Qualifications:
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Six to seven years related commercial experience
- Ability to identify exclusions in lease documentation and the impactof individual tenancies
- Experience running rent statements and identifying tenants that are in arrears, assisting with rent collections
- Experience managing A-Class type properties with an AI and Biomedical tenancy preferred
- Strongunderstanding of lease documentation and what the impacts are related to the tenant operating expenses
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization, planning and timemanagement skills; ability to work autonomously in a fastpaced environment
