The Team Leader, Contracting Services will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Contracting Services team. This role is a hybrid role.
Core responsibilities will include:
People Leadership
- Promoting collaboration and developing team members' proficiency to deliver team objectives and seek continuous improvement opportunities
- Leading the team toward a customerorientated, endtoend mindset of accountability
- Providing tools/guidance and analysis of complex inquiries and solutions
- Managing resource management, including recruiting and onboarding team members
- Conducting ongoing coaching and development, ensuring participation in corporate training initiatives, and conducting regular performance reviews
Management
- Overseeing the administration of contracting and licensing for all distribution channels, to ensure that all agents and upline management are properly contracted, licensed and appointed, where applicable with provincial insurance departments
- Supporting and coaching the team to identify and implement continuous process improvement opportunities to enhance the agent experience and support business retention
Quality Assurance and Reporting
- Auditing contracting packages, background checks, and upline terminations for accuracy and completeness, following up on outstanding contractual requirements
- Assessing effectiveness of Service Level Agreements (SLA) and updating as needed, including implementing, and maintaining effective administrative processes aligned with SLAs
- Producing monthly reporting and analysis of key performance indicators for presentation to management
Compliance
- Overseeing process agents and upline terminations on the systems, ensuring that appropriate provincial administrative bodies are properly notified
- Overseeing tracking and notifications to agents and upline management regarding expiring licenses and expiring errors and omissions coverage to ensure standards are met
- Collaborating with corporate Compliance in response to inquiries pertaining to contracting and licensing issues, meeting established service level standards
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
- Proven track record of performance management and successful team development
- Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to build and maintain relationships with employees, leaders, and internal and external stakeholders
- Creative problem solver and demonstrated ability to make process improvements
- A "take charge" attitude along with the ability to selfmanage workload and priorities in a changing and evolving environment. This includes effective time management, multitasking, and prioritizing skills
- Must have the initiative and ability to look for and champion improvement opportunities. Adaptable to ongoing change and lead by example
- Experience in life insurance industry is a must
- Knowledge of Canadian provincial and federal insurance regulations along with individual insurance products is an asset
- Advanced verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required to effectively communicate with internal and external customers; fluency in French is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and work of others; can work effectively under pressure and time constraints within a fastpaced environment
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
