Position
Summary:

The incumbent will excel at nurturing and managing relationships, identifying and mapping opportunities, outreach, and implementation.

Responsibilities:


Stakeholder Management:


  • Identifies, develops, and maintains a database of key community stakeholders (internal and external) at all campuses.
  • Develops new and nurtures existing relationships with community leaders to build support for Seneca activities.
  • Researches and identifies local funding opportunities for Seneca initiatives.
  • Works with internal teams to develop a "good neighbour" strategy for each campus.

Project Management:


  • Identifies and develops programs and partnerships that help build trust between Seneca and the communities we serve.
  • Actively involved in achieving Department targets and priorities.
  • Coordinates Seneca events hosted in the community.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to promote community engagement initiatives externally.

Thought Leadership:


  • Regularly reads higher education journals to understand trends in the postsecondary sector.
  • Demonstrates commitment to personal awareness and growth through taking courses, reading book and any other means.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Completed four (4) year degree in Political Science, Business, or a related field. If education is in a related field, please state how it is relevant.

Experience:


  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in one or more of the following areas: partnerships, community engagement, stakeholder engagement, sponsorship, corporate social responsibility, event management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with local community organizations and an ability to navigate complex relationships is required.

Skills:


  • Exceptional skills in communication, presentation, proposal writing, negotiation and facilitation.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and effectively network with others to achieve positive working relationships both inside and outside of the College.
  • Ability to execute politically sensitive, complex, and multifunctional projects and processes, seeing the big picture without losing sight of the details and their implications.
  • Strong skills in financial and budgetary planning and control.
