Aramark is recruiting a bilingual French - English General Manager for our Remote operations in northern Quebec and Labrador sites.

This position is a work-from-home model with approximately 25%-30% travel to the sites.


As the General Manager, you will provide vision, planning, direction, and control to the departments assigned to you, within a defined area, to exceed business and financial objectives.

On a daily basis, the General Manager must make strategic decisions, execute them, then demonstrate their results.

The General Manager advises and motivates managers and other staff members.

Your ability to identify the best talents, communicate his vision to them and develop them to their full potential is a guarantee of his success and the success of his service.


The General Manager establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and maintains relationships with them that are beneficial to both parties.

You also demonstrate dynamic leadership when it comes to developing financial and business plans in general and excels at developing new clients and retaining current clients.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervise a district which includes several profit centers located across Quebec.
  • Manage all unit activities regarding food services and facility services.
  • Responsible for development of business plan and budget for each account in the district.
  • Develops and attains financial goals for the district.
  • Reviews and analyzes all reports (financial, human resources, etc.) pertaining to district components.
  • Establishes and maintains client relations to ensure account retention.
  • Responsible for compliance with provisions of client contracts.
  • Evaluates the quality of services delivered by Services in each district component. Conducts inspections to determine quality of service provided. Investigates complaints regarding this operation and effects satisfactory solutions.
  • Works with the Regional Vice President on rebids and contract negotiations.
  • Becomes actively involved in the acquisition of new business, including identifying, surveying, and costing prospects. Participates in the sales process by working with the preproposal study teams, aiding in presentations, preparing opening team schedules, and coordinating and leading opening teams. Conducts client negotiations and renegotiates unit contracts.
  • Coordinates documentation of contract changes.
  • Identifies opportunities for advancement and other developmental experiences for successful managers and maintains a succession plan. Assists in filing open positions for each component in the district.
  • Visits each account on a regular basis to maintain contact with clients and employees, and to ensure compliance with ARAMARK standards.
  • Meets with managers regularly to coach and provide feedback on performance, and to assist in managers' professional development.
  • Develops good relationships with corporate support departments to facilitate meeting needs of the district.
  • Manages compliance with companies' standards of operation, client contract and within Business Conduct Policy.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or other related field required
  • Fluently bilingual in French and English is a requirement
years progressive management experience managing complex operations/business with financial and operational responsibility for that business, multi-site OR multi-departmental.

  • Successful high volume P&L and budgetary management; exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven track record of growing accounts.
  • Demonstrated the ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business is essential to success in this role.
  • Selfstarter, capable of leading, directing, and supporting a team in a diverse environment with highly developed interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
  • Travel is as required, for account/facility visits between 25% and 30% of the time.


This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.

This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
