MUST BE ABLE TO WORK AT BOTH OUR MEL'S DINER LOCATIONS_


Responsibilities:


  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a smile
  • Escort guests to their assigned tables
  • Provide menus and assist with seating arrangements
  • Take reservations and manage the waiting list
  • Answer phone calls and provide information to guests
  • Assist with coordinating seating for large parties
  • Maintain a clean and organized host/host station
  • Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong hospitality mindset with a focus on providing exceptional customer service
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills
  • Previous experience in a customer service or food service role is preferred
  • Ability to multitask and handle highpressure situations with grace and professionalism
  • Strong phone etiquette and the ability to handle guest inquiries effectively

$16.50 per hour

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Every Weekend
  • Holidays
  • Morning shift

  • Kitchener-Waterloo, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Hosting: 1 year (required)
  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
