Norseman Structures is looking to add a Fiercely Reliable
Foreman/Lead Hand to our team.


The
Foreman/Lead Hand is responsible for leading an assigned installation crew, including supervising the erection of steel trusses to form the interior skeleton and install appropriate cladding of the building, which may be fabric or steel.

The
Foreman/ Lead Hand will need to be able to travel and be on site for extended periods of time (up to 3 weeks at a time)


Foreman/ Lead Hand Responsibilities:


  • Promotes job site safety and, encourages safe work practices.
  • Understands, manages and enforces project specific Safety and Quality requirements.
  • Lays out or reconciles foundation design and/or anchor bolt layout.
  • Erects structural precast concrete components for buildings, foundations and containment walls.
  • Assembles and erects prefabricated metal structures.
  • Unloads, plans and positions steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed
  • Dismantles structures and equipment when required.
  • Signals crane operator to position steel units according to blueprints.
  • Participates as an integral member of the team and contributes towards the success of the Company by performing other related duties as required

Foreman/ Lead Hand Requirements

  • High School education and a minimum of 2 years' experience supervising personnel in the construction industry.
  • Steelframed, fabriccovered buildings installation experience is an asset.
  • Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driver's abstract
  • Strong interpersonal with an ability to manage diverse personalities
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to operate lift equipment and have or obtain required certificates.
  • Must be able to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights up to 80'
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer literacy also required.
  • First Aid, H2S Alive, WHMIS and other industry related certifications are an asset and may be required. Training will be given as required.

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift

  • Saskatoon, SK: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

- rigging: 1 year (preferred)


  • Supervising: 2 years (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 75% (preferred)
