The Opportunity:


The Sales Team Lead manages a team of 4 to 8 reservation sales agents known as "Polar Travel Sales Advisors" to maximize the team sales, driving growth through day-to-day performance management, training, and sales coaching.


This is a sales and line management role, and the individual will be measured on the success of their team performance and the overall sales in line with the company objectives and strategies.

Achieve company objectives by setting individual sales goals, analyzing performance data, and working closely with the other team leads.


Continuously develop personal leadership, hiring, and training skills while ensuring the team uses effective sales tactics to meet revenue objectives.

This role is hybrid with expectation to come into the office in Toronto 6 times a month.


What will you be doing:


  • Maximizes Sales Opportunities through adequate and constant supervision and support of team members.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings and craft development plans for team members to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Ensuring personal development of all team members through regular performance reviews and SMART objectives
  • Recruit and train new team members, giving full developmental support to enable them to achieve company targets.
  • Collaborate closely and be aligned with other team leaders regarding training, coaching and processes.
  • Collect vital data to assist in future strategy creation to align with company targets and goals.
  • Proactively communicate and handle any concerns related to policy and processes to management and team members.
  • Solving problems associated with escalated bookings from Sales Advisors.
  • Handle conflict management among team members to achieve harmony and a cohesive team culture.
  • Promote a positive work environment while motivating the team to achieve company targets.
  • Act as a Quark Polar Travel Sales Advisor when demand requires, including late shifts and weekends.

What we are looking for:


  • 5+ years in sales with a proven track record of success, ideally in relevant industries.
  • This should include managing the sales cycle from initial prospecting to booking.
  • Successful experience in people management ideally sales management is also essential.
  • Excellent written and spoken communicator who builds relationships quickly.
  • Demands high customer service standards and understands the importance of attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to take the initiative and expertly direct customer interactions.
  • Thrives in a sales environment and enjoys leading and training individuals to ensure standards are constant.
  • Has a strong positive character and is used to handling pressure.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Capable of using a variety of computer programs expertly and efficiently.
  • Experience with different reservation systems and CRM/ Sales Force is preferable.
  • Ability to use tools such as CRM and Excel to analyze, plan and monitor sales effectiveness.
  • Strong organizational and time leadership skills.
