Reporting to the Production Supervisor the Assembler prepares and assembles a wide variety of parts, components, assemblies and sub-assemblies for Chameleon Innovations products in the metal shop or service center.

Responsibilities:

Fabrication of assigned Chameleon Innovations assemblies, subassemblies, products, installations, repairs and orders; inspect finish products according to the production plans and schedule and subassembly requirements to ensure quality, ontime delivery and cost.
Follows methods and standard work as assigned and applicable
Move tools, equipment and other materials to and from work areas
Operate metal fabrication type machinery (Shear, Brake, Piranha, Drill, Grinder, etc)
Transport raw materials and finished metal and other Chameleon Innovations products manually or using devices
Clean work areas and equipment, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures, CSST and other safety compliance bodies as applicable.
Load and unload vehicles using hand truck or dolly
Forklift or equipment operation (must have valid license for this equipment)
Prepare assemblies, subassemblies, kits, etc. as assigned
Maintain material Kanbans and related systems
May cut, grind or chip excess metal from metal products
Assist in repairing, maintaining and installing machinery and equipment
Participate in quality and continuous improvement initiatives as required
Preparation, packaging and shipping of orders, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately, and efficiently.
Perform other laboring and elemental tasks as assigned
Other duties as assigned
Requested skills
Some secondary school
Must be meticulous and detail oriented
Ability to read, interpret and build to order systems based on drawings
Honest and hardworking
Punctuality
Positive attitude
Physical strength is requiredPrevious experience working in the metal fabrication industry an asset
Fully bilingual English/French would be considered an asset but not required. Must have the ability to work in either French or English.
Knowledge of CNESST and other regulatory compliance related to this position would be considered an asset
