Stockkeeper Warehouse - Leadhand

1 Permanent Position (Afternoon Shift)

CUPE Local 4400, Unit D - 12 Months

  • Reporting to the Manager/Assistant Manager, Logistics, the Leadhand Stockkeeper will be responsible for _
- assisting in the co-ordination, production and delivery of school supplies from the central Distribution _

  • Centre(s) in accordance with a predetermined schedule. The Leadhand Stockkeeper will also assist in _
- providing day to day direction to Stock Clerks, Maintenance Stock Keeper and the Receivers


Summary of Duties:

Assist in the direction and assignment of the daily production tasks to the designated Warehouse staff to

ensure that the Distribution Centre's delivery schedule is maintained;
Assist in assigning the sequence of school orders to be assembled;
Assist with inventory discrepancy investigations;
Ensure all stock bins are replenished in a timely fashion and cycle inventory counts are completed;
Assist providing direction to staff to ensure all assembled orders are staged for shipping;
Assist in ensuring that all manifests are completed for the external/internal delivery agencies and verify

delivery charges;
Loading and unloading of delivery vehicles with stock materials
Open and/or close Distribution Centre Facility as scheduled;
Assist Management to ensure Occupational Health and Safety standards are maintained;
Assist with maintaining an organized, clean, safe and secure work environment;
Ensure that production and safety equipment are maintained and serviced;
Assist in receiving and/or Stock keeping duties as required;
Oversee trade stock items within the Distribution Centre;
Identify scheduling and performance issues;
Provide support/back-up to other staff as required, including the Maintenance Stockkeeper Leadhand;
Provide assistance and training to Distribution Centre operations staff;
Create printed labels for stock orders and run reports as directed by Management;
Assist in co-ordination of the summer school orders;
Assist in the waste/recycle disposal process and assist in the development of routing/delivery schedules;
Assist with data entry of Maintenance Notifications and Work Orders;
Operate material handling equipment within the Warehouse

complete annual inventory;
Other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Secondary School Diploma and one year's related stockkeeping/inventory experience in a

Warehouse/Distribution Centre environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Experience with inventory layout, receiving, picking, packing, shipping and inventory control;
Experience with scheduling and routing of deliveries;
Knowledge of stockkeeping procedures and practices;
Knowledge of related Board policies and Occupational Health and Safety legislation;
Good communication skills and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team;
Successful lead hand experience in a distribution/warehousing environment;
W.H.M.I.S. knowledge and awareness of safety issues for work environment;
Current Lift and Pallet Truck Certification (Ontario);
Computer Skills including SAP (Inventory Management and Sale Distribution Modules).
Customer Service Skills
Strong organizational and time Management Skills
Proven Leadership Skills


Other Job Requirements:

Ability to stand/walk for extended periods;
Ability to load, unload and move stock by hand and by using basic material handling equipment;
Ability to operate motorized material handling equipment (e.g. Fork Lift);
Ability to lift boxes, containers and supplies for shipment etc (up to 50 pounds);
Requires wearing safety equipment (e.g. safety shoes); and
Ability to work at heights of up to 20 feet utilizing safety cage and restraining device.


Shift:
Dedicated PM shift (2PM to 10PM)


Hours: 40 hours per week
