About Home & Community Support Services


Home and Community Support Services (HCSS) of Grey-Bruce is a team of caring staff and volunteers who provide community based services that support independence and enhance the quality of daily life for seniors, adults and their families.

We are currently looking for a PSW to work casual and on call hours at our Port Elgin Adult Day Away Program.

This position offers a wide range of flexibility and a low stress work environment.


About the Role

  • Provide education, information and support to caregivers of clients.
  • Provide assistance with ADLs for the clients attending
  • Must be available for all shifts; days, evenings and nights
  • Assist with planning activities and resources required for the operation of the
  • Day Away and Overnight Relief programs, as delegated by the Programs & Camp; Activities Coordinator.
  • Work directly with clients during the program hours
  • Implement the daily schedule of client / volunteer activities and lead the program as delegated by the Program and Activities Coordinator;
  • Assist clients with personal care needs as identified and delegated by the Registered staff, and as a member of the staff team
  • Will work in the Port Elgin Adult Day Program with option to provide relief at other ADP sites in Grey Bruce

Employment Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Reliable mode of transportation
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience working with the elderly and the physically challenged and their families
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, and previous experience working with volunteers is an asset
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID19

Experience:

- personal supportive care: 1 year (preferred)
