Pattison Food Group Ltd. is Save-On-Foods and other well-known grocery banners. With nearly 300 retail locations, we proudly employ more than 30,000 team members.We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Manager, Procurement to join our Merchandising team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Director, Procurement, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods for resale within a retail grocery environment, including managing the cost of goods and establishing processes and procedures that provide efficiencies and consistencies across the organization.
You will be responsible for:
- Partnering with the Category Managers to understand requirements and collaborate on joint Business Planning.
- Developing vendor strategies to deliver on banner requirements and leading vendor review meetings to determine leverage opportunities.
- Negotiating with external/internal suppliers and managing suppliers' funding and costing agreements i.e., managing contracts, vendor funding and costing agreements.
- Identifying opportunities across banners and consolidating data for priority areas.
- Working closely with Inventory Management, Transportation, and other key business areas to ensure consultation at relevant decision points.
- Managing the approved budget with a focus on achieving established financial targets.
- Recommending preferred category vendors based on banner listings and data.
- Analyzing the performance of product mix plans while proactively managing the introduction/discontinuation/optimization of the product mix within assigned categories.
- Partnering with Category Manager counterpart to manage the approved budget with a focus on achieving established financial targets.
- Communicating key metrics between banners and Category Managers.
- Responding to vendors issues.
- Visiting trade shows and industry events and staying current on innovative and profitable solutions and ideas.
- Overseeing procurement of all regularly used materials, supplies and services, including fuel, office supplies, equipment components, and IT equipment.
- Developing and implementing procurement and inventory control processes throughout the company.
- Achieving significant cost savings and efficiency by negotiating favorable terms with suppliers and coordinating purchasing across diverse operations.
You have:
- Postsecondary education in Business Administration or relevant discipline is an asset.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Experienced in negotiating vendors contracts.
You are:
- Selfaware, empathetic and possess a high level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
- Highly organized, with an impeccable attention to detail.
- An excellent negotiator and communicator with strong collaboration and influencing skills to drive consensus and the best outcomes.
- Able to work cross functionally and build effective relationships with both internal and external partners.
- Analytical with problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Focused on achieving goals and have a strong profit orientation.
- Able to challenge the status quo, look for new opportunities, and take risks.
