As members of the upper house of Parliament, senators examine legislation, study public policy, champion causes and conduct interparliamentary diplomacy.

They are business people and scientists, judges and teachers, athletes, community leaders and senior civil servants who use their lifetimes of expertise to ensure Parliament acts in the best interests of Canadians.
Students will have the opportunity to support the Senator's office or to work at the Senate administration.Open to
All students enrolled or returning to full-time studies at a recognized post-secondary institution.
Prerequisites
- Currently enrolled with fulltime student status in a recognized postsecondary institution;
- Returning to fulltime studies in the next academic semester;
- Experience working in a professional environment providing a high level of customer service;
- Excellent communication skills with high standards of service, integrity and respect;
- Superior level of motivation, problemsolving and collaboration skills;
- Outstanding ability to take initiative, prioritize assignments and adapt quickly in a fastpace environment;
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
- Involvement in extracurricular activities (i.e. Coop programs, volunteering activities, etc.) is considered an asset;
- Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French) is considered an asset.
