Description
This position is responsible for adherence to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the I.C.E. policy and procedure manual and must promote health and safety in the workplace.

  • Developing, implementing, and continued monitoring of behavior intervention plans. Providing direction and supervision towards completion and collection of required assessments i.e. functional, basic functional, medical to facilitate behavior management.
  • Providing consultation and assisting with training for agency personnel.
  • Consulting with external resources as necessary i.e. psychologists, psychiatrists to facilitate behavior support planning and to review any restrictive procedures.
  • Attending Planning Meetings, as required, as a Consultant and for the purpose of developing and monitoring intervention plans.
  • Facilitating Restrictive Procedures Advisory Committee (RPAC) meetings.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and agency policy and procedures both in principal and with supporting documentation.
  • An understanding of the broader range of resources available to support the clients and a clear understanding of how and when they are accessed.
  • Completing internal investigations (injury/near miss/allegations of abuse) dependent on agency requirements.
  • Maintaining acceptable standards and procedures for risk management including identification, mitigation and ongoing evaluation of risks.
  • Hiring and termination of employees as appropriate and in accordance with the agency policies and procedures and with Employment Standards.
  • Becoming familiar with and able to use computer programs designed for I.C.E for tracking client, employee and service deliver information.
  • Ensuring documentation is completed and established timelines met for the same, in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

Education, Skills, and Experience:


  • Postsecondary education in the rehabilitation or a similar field (a minimum of two years)
  • Proactive behavior intervention or behavior management training
  • Experience working in the community rehabilitation field (including a minimum of three years of practical experience in behavioral management strategies)
  • Experience in developing and implementing positive behavioral intervention plans
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to handle stressful situations proactively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector required
