Facilities Coordinator and make an impact in our community?
The
Facilities Coordinator ensures the smooth operations and functions of systems within Bissell Centre.
This position is also responsible to coordinate the repair of properties operated by the Bissell Centre including Bissell Centre East and West, Child Care, Hope Terrace, Thrift Shops, Nova Plaza, Moonlight Bay Centre, and other facilities as they may be acquired, to ensure that the properties are well maintained and do not pose any risks to employers, participants, or visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working under the supervision of the Team Lead, Facilities, this position will be responsible for the following:
Building Services
- Provision of custodial and logĂstical support services to all Bisselloperated properties
- Coordination of other services such as: recycling (paper/deposit), shredding, replacement of bulbs
- Perform maintenance tasks and physical handson work including minor repairs, installations, hanging pictures, and moving furniture and equipment
Grounds and Building Maintenance
- Coordinate maintenance of buildings, grounds, roads, parking areas for all Bisselloperated properties
- Coordinate service of building heating and cooling systems and services, including heating, hot water, air conditioning, electrical power, and sewage
- Provide input in developing an energy management program to include long range energy use goals, temperature and lighting standards, and a facilities improvement program to modify buildings and utilities systems to improve energy efficiency
Facilities Personnel
- Work with facilities staff to ensure proper maintenance and safety of all program areas
- Attend regular facilities staff meetings to inform, plan, and discuss facilitiesrelated matters
- Provide guidance and support to facilities staff members as required
Financial
- Monitor and submit receipts for facilities expenditures for approval
Preventative Maintenance Program
- Participate and assist in implementing and monitoring preventative maintenance programs to reduce the frequency of unscheduled breakdowns and downtime of critical equipment and systems.
Facilities Service Requests
- Create and maintain facilitiesrelated key performance indicator system
Safety and Security Services
- Assist in management of Bissell's Fire Suppression system, video camera system, the fire alarm system, the security system
- Maintain/create WHMISrequired documentation and implementation
- Monitor, update, replace and report on AED status
Planning and Managing Capital Projects
- Assist the Team Lead, Facilities, and the Director of Administration with facilitating the initiation, planning, approval, consultation selection, design, review and construction delivery of all new construction, renovations, infrastructure, energy upgrades and major building maintenance initiatives on Bissell property
Property Planning
- Organize and maintain accurate drawings and information for all of Bissell's Centre's facilities as well as maintain databases, including the facilities service request data. Assist the Team Lead, Facilities in maintaining internal and external signage.
Facilities Administrative Office
- Assisting with facility maintenance, contracted services, procurement, interdepartmental billing of services, and equipment inventory. Reporting of budget allocations and expenses when required
- In conjunction with the Team Lead, Facilities and the Director of Administration, assist in maintaining an Operations and Maintenance manual
- Attend Team meetings to address facilities issues and collaborate on organizational initiatives
Logistics
- Assist with office moves and occasional special event setup
Vehicle Management
- Development, implementation and monitoring of standards, procedures and policies to ensure continuing operational efficiency, preventative maintenance, cost effectiveness and safety of Bissell Centre's vehicles
Qualifications
- 3 years' experience in building maintenance an asset
