We are hiring Janitors for one of our clients in
Scarborough. Our Client is specialized in the domestic manufacture of nuts, bolts and screws. The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the manufacturing facility. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a safe and productive work environment for all employees.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitization:

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to maintain a clean working environment.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in designated areas.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces to maintain a tidy appearance.

Facility Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and replacing restroom supplies.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment for special events or production needs.

Safety Compliance:

  • Comply with all safety protocols and guidelines while performing duties.
  • Ensure the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and materials.
  • Identify and promptly address potential safety hazards within the facility.

Recycling and Sustainability:

  • Support the company's recycling and sustainability initiatives by sorting and disposing of recyclable materials appropriately.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and communicate supply needs to the supervisor.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other maintenance and production staff to ensure a cohesive and efficient work environment.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive and cooperative team atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and floor scrubbers.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problemsolving.
Shift Timing: 8 am to 4 pm


Pay rate:
$19.


Location:
Markham

$19.00 per hour

  • Markham, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Cleaning: 1 year (preferred)
- janitorial: 1 year (preferred)
